MANAGER, LEARNING AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
The Manager, Learning and Family Engagement will support the VP, Education & Engagement in expanding KERA’s education services as a leading provider of high-quality, free education content and activities to the community. The Manager, Learning and Family Engagement will be passionate and excited about sharing learning opportunities to engage, families, community organizations, schools and educators across North Texas.
This is an FLSA classified exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime. The position directly reports to the VP, Education & Engagement and supervises two full-time Family Engagement Specialists plus contractors (as needed).
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Help the VP, Education & Engagement develop and maintain strategic partnerships at the local, state, and national levels including PBS affiliates
Assist in expanding KERA’s Learning Neighborhood program
Collaborate with local partners to present KERA’s community-based education programs and recruit families to participate in programs
Create an Ambassador Program including a digital toolkit that empowers KERA’s partners to share our content.Support the KERA Digital Products Team to amplify the Ambassador materials on the KERA website and other digital products.
Oversee Ambassador program from inception to rollout and engage and oversee partners associated with the program
Host focus groups for community members for community voices to inform our work
Plan and present sessions for training parent educators and parents to use materials and programs from KERA most effectively
Create curricula and other teaching tools to augment KERA’s teaching and learning programs
Represent KERA’s education services at community events and education conferences
Stay up to date on plans by PBS and other public media stations for broadcast and digital programming and community-based activities
Help to evaluate the efficacy of KERA’s family engagement and educator programs
Directly manage full-time Family Engagement Specialists (and contractors, when needed) to help them be successful in their roles including (but not limited to) regular 1:1 meetings, day to day oversight and supervision, quarterly performance reviews and regular coaching
Support and synthesize data and metrics from education programs on spreadsheets, reports, and other reporting tools
Track, monitor, and analyze data from the Learning Neighborhood program to ensure alignment with program objectives and report on monthly program outcomes
Represent KERA’s education services at community events and education conferences
Stay up to date on plans by PBS and other public media stations for broadcast and digital programming and community-based activities
Demonstrate excellent writing, communication and presentation skills internally and externally
Work involves occasional weekends at conferences, events, and workshops

Requirements

At least three years of experience as a teacher, OR
At least three years of experience in education, or family engagement
Experience managing a team and strong collaboration skills with multiple departments
Proficient in the use of digital media tools in both virtual and face-to-face learning environments
Highly organized with project management experience and can juggle several projects at once
Strong knowledge of education systems and community partners dedicated to family engagement
Experience creating programs from the ground up with successful metrics
Ability to plan and present sessions for training educators, parent educators, and parents to use materials and programs from KERA effectively
Highly informed on Pre-K through 6th grade educational trends and resources to deepen student and parent/caregiver engagement
Proactive and quick learner who can solve problems, multi-task, anticipates organizational and partnership needs as well as meets deadlines
Able to collaborate and communicate diplomatically with multiple external organizations
Must have reliable transportation and drive to various North Texas locations for events
BONUS IF YOU BRING:
Bilingual in Spanish and other languages common in Texas a plus
Experience as a lead teacher or leadership roles within the education field
Knowledge of educational landscapes including public and charter schools and homeschool educators
Experience in managing team members
Experience in project management and creating programs
Experience creating surveys, analyzing data, and reporting on outcomes
Experience/familiarity with the mission and services of public media
SALARY RANGE:
$65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience

LOCATION:
This position is hybrid, and we expect this position will work in-person out of the Dallas office or at an on-site event/workshop/partner location at least 60% of the time. (Equivalent to 24 hours per week)
Time in office requirements are subject to change based on the needs of KERA and/or the position.
