Summary Information:
The Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Lecturer as a Spanish Foundations Coordinator and Lecturer in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures to begin fall 2026. This position is a one-year appointment with possibility for renewal and includes the option for a remote point of duty.
At Texas Tech University, the Lecturer title designates a full-time, non-tenure-acquiring role with primary duties in teaching organized classes and/or instructional labs.
Required Qualifications
In line with TTU’s strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate level.
Specific required qualifications are:
1. MA in Spanish Literature and Culture, MA in Hispanic Linguistics, or MA in Foreign Language Teaching;
2. Minimum two years of teaching Spanish. Graduate teaching as instructor of record may count towards this requirement.
3. Must have a demonstrated record and strong commitment to teaching excellence.
4. Evidence of leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
1. Demonstrated success in project collaboration.
2. Experience and success in online teaching.
3. Experience as a dedicated mentor.
4. Experience in curriculum design and program innovation.
5. Experience and interest in international education recruitment, teaching, and program development.
