The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University at Albany (www.albany.edu/llc), State University of New York, seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in Hispanic Linguistics for one year to begin in Fall 2025, teaching 3/3. PhD in Hispanic linguistics in hand by August 15, 2025. Primary areas of specialization are Spanish for the professions, and second/ heritage language acquisition. Preference will be given to candidates that better complement existing strengths in the program. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated evidence of high-quality research and teaching. Native or near native fluency in Spanish and English are required.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized organization by 9/1/2025. Candidates who will not hold the degree by this date will not be considered.

Native or native-like competence in Spanish and English.
at least three years of experience teaching Spanish and Spanish linguistics classes at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching Spanish for the health professions and Business and legal Spanish.
Additional Information:
Professional Rank and Salary Range: Visiting Assistant Professor (10 Month), $50,000.
